[רעדאַקטירן קוואַלטעקסט]

Hamaspik was created and exists to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to achieve their maximum level of independent functioning and the highest possible quality of life. The work of developing and indeed achieving the fullest potential of every person is carried out by qualified professional staff, in the spirit of mutual respect and loving kindness.

“Hamaspik” is structured as an independent network of private non-profit organizations reflecting identical philosophies and missions while sharing resources and technical assistance. Our services are in high demand and our goal is to create Hamaspik agencies in every Orthodox Jewish community. At the present time there are Hamaspiks in New York City and in several Hudson Valley counties. Each Hamaspik agency operates independently under its own Board of Directors -- made up of parents and respected citizens who are well cognizant of the needs of the disabled population. Each Hamaspik member agency is a provider within the network.

A leading force in the forefront of services to individuals with disabilities, Hamaspik continues to innovate community based programs for families who wish to provide the best possible environment and support services for the individuals in need and members of their family.

Today, individuals with disabilities – young and old – are provided a broad range of services, based both at home and in the community.

Included in this array, very briefly, are:

Residential – Group Homes for Children and Adults (under IRA and ICF settings), Individualized (ISS) Apartments, and Home Family Care.

At Home – Provided inside the individual’s own home: Residential Habilitation, FSS Expense Reimbursement, and Environmental Modification.

Support – Medicaid Service Coordination, PACE Personal Aide, Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver, Care at Home Waiver, Supportive Employment, Day Habilitation, Respite, Early Intervention and more

All programs are staffed and provided by state-certified personnel and monitored by the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) and/or the New York State Department of Health (DOH).

With every program and at all times, Hamaspik services are driven by the promise of every individual’s future, accompanied with outmost respect for each and every consumer – who comes first and is always right!
